Charcoal on paper

The Shower is a series of charcoal drawings documenting the physical and emotional experience of showering in East Hall. As those of us who live or have lived in East Hall know, the East shower is an uncanny place. Crammed in a space barely large enough to fit a medium size dog with a showerhead too low for a man's head, showerers undergo daily a claustrophobic, otherworldly experience in a space that does not seem made for humans. In addition to its disconcerting design, the shower regularly hosts fiendish hair and grime, preventing its visitors from ever feeling truly clean leaving the shower.
